Landon turns 2!

Landon's birthday fell on a Tuesday this year and we decided to go out and celebrate our BIG 2 year old. We started our day off with a trip to Monkey Joe's so that he could have some fun on the huge inflatables.
Afterwards, we headed over to Chick-Fil-A for dress like a cow day. We all put on our makeshift cow costumes in order to eat for free.
The kids came home and took their afternoon naps so that they could be ready for the rest of the day's activities. We decided to take him out to his favorite restaurant, or at least the place where he usually eats the best. We had a couple of other people join our party when Grandma and Grandpa showed up.

To finish off our activities for the day we took the birthday boy out to the movies. We went to see the new movie Minions.
We got Landon a little cake, because what is a birthday without cake!
He loved blowing out the candles. We ended up lighting and blowing out this one at least 3 times.
This was quite the haul that Landon got.

Cake face! He was even a good boy and shared with his big sister.
We had a great day celebrating our little man. It is crazy how fast these past two years have flown by. It seems like he is always learning something new and he sure makes things interesting around the house. Landon and the rest of us all got some news during our dinner that he had a new cousin. Jennifer's sister had just delivered Elam. So, now the boys will both share July 14th for a birthday.
We had planned for Landon's birthday party to be the Saturday after his actual birthday. However, Jennifer really wanted to go see her nephew. After some discussions we decided that Jennifer could travel to Scottsville with MiMi to visit and I would stay to get the house cleaned up and start making some of the goodies for the party. The theme for the party was Monsters. Landon loves to watch the Monster movies and he really loves to scare people with his roar!

I decorated some cupcakes to resemble Sully and also made a Mike Wazowski cake. I looked all over the grocery store to find something to use as an eyeball and the best choice ended up being a Hostess snowball cake. I also made some Rice Krispy Treats to look like Sully.
The whole table setup with some of the kid's toys for some added decoration.
Landon playing with Aunt Amanda.
Opening his gifts. He got some big boy underwear. Looks like soon we might be a diaper free household.
I am not sure if I was more excited than Landon that someone got him a tee-ball set.
Landon showing off his stuffed Olaf.
Grandma and Grandpa got Landon a train set with some letters that attach to the train that spell his name.
We found Brinley's Halloween costume from a few years ago and decided to try it on Landon. It fit perfectly, but he didn't seem to like it very much.
I decided to throw on my Oozma Kappa t-shirt that Jennifer made me for our Disney adventure so that I could be a part of the birthday theme.
Little man looks so excited.
Brinley decided that she wanted to be Sully.
Our little monsters.
Waiting to blow out his candles.
Jennifer's family - Amanda, MiMi and Jessi.
Our family - Landon just couldn't refrain from eating his cupcake.
My family - Grandma and Grandpa. McKinley was going to make the trip up for the party, but his car wouldn't start when he went to leave from Madisonville.
Later that night Landon finally decided that he enjoyed being Sully!
Raising these two kids has sure been an adventure, but I wouldn't change a single thing about the life that we have. We have been blessed with two healthy children that truly make my world complete. I love being their dad and I can't wait to see what they grow up to be. Thanks for reading and God bless!
