Last year we took the kids on their first trip to Holiday World with Grandma and Grandpa. The kids loved it, but we wanted to try something else out this year. We had won some tickets to Beech Bend Park earlier in the summer so that made the decision even easier. The hardest part of the whole trip was coming up with a day that would work for all of us to be able to go. The day finally arrived and it was an early one for us! It took about 2 and a half hours for us to drive down to Bowling Green.
Our first ride after entering the park was the Pirate Ship. Landon wasn't tall enough so Brinley, Grandpa, and I rode it. It was like a big swing in that you just go forward and backward over and over. Brinley hated it! She clutched onto my arm for dear life! Needless to say we didn't ride it again.
| Landon's first ride came on the crazy bus. They weren't tall enough to ride by their selves so Jennifer got to ride too! |
| A ride on the bumble bees. This was the first ride that they could ride without a parent. This was like a mini Dumbo ride in that it went in a circle and you could fly up and down in the air. |
| The little whip was funny to watch. The kids went around in a big circle on this ride but at the curves it would whip them around just a little faster. The faces as they were trying to hang on were hilarious. |
| Next up was a ride on the little 4 wheelers. |
This little kiddie land was a lot of fun for the kids. The only problem with it was that it took forever for them to ride all of them. For the 5 rides they only had 2 people working to operate them.
| The kids were tall enough to ride the teacups all by themselves. I thought it was funny to watch them spin around and all we could see was the tops of their heads. |
| They didn't get to spin around as fast as they would like so Grandpa rode it with them and spun them around even faster. |
| The next ride was the bumper cars. The kids got to ride the mini ones all by themselves. They loved it! |
| Landon looking for someone to run into. |
| Landon was the only one brave enough to ride this with me. It was like a mini Tower of Terror. Unfortunately, Landon said he didn't like it. |
| Everyone got a ride on the carousel. Grandma and I opted for the chariot. |
| In the early afternoon we made our way over to the water park. While everyone was getting their swimsuit on Grandpa went in and found us an area to sit. This is how we found him. |
| After the water park we headed back out to ride a few more rides. Landon wanted the map so that he could be our guide. Not sure if you can see it, but it is upside down. |
| Grandparents and kids on the Haunted House ride. The kids were not all smiles afterward. |
| Next up was the old fashioned cars. The kids weren't tall enough to drive so we split up and took a lap around the course. |
| Tilt-a-Whirl with Grandpa and Landon. This was a funny ride because Landon was loving it and every time we spun around Grandpa would say he wanted to stop cause he felt sick. I was laughing the whole time. |
| Spinning dragon ride. I spun the cart around too fast and this one made me a little sick! |
| The kids took a ride on the motor boats. |
| Mommy and Landon on the Monster Trucks! |
| Brinley was so excited that she got to drive the Monster Truck by herself. |
| We ended our night at the park with a game of miniature golf. This is free with your admission which is a nice perk. The course needs a little work, but we had fun. Grandpa and I were tied up going into the 18th hole and he ended up beating me by 2 strokes. |
| Grandma and Grandpa with the kiddos. |
| Heading home. |
| Picture of everyone. We had a nice day exploring and playing with Grandma and Grandpa. |
Before making the drive back home we stopped for dinner at Smokey Bones BBQ. We all had fun at Beech Bend Park, but it had more of a carnival feel than it did an actual amusement park. It was good for a full day of fun, but the only thing we would probably go back for would be the water park, which the kids loved. Unfortunately, the kids couldn't ride quite a few of the rides and water slides so we might not be back until they meet all the height requirements. Thanks for reading and God bless!
