Playing in the Snow!

Brinley has been practicing snow angels in the house for weeks now in anticipation of the first real snow of winter. Her being so excited about it made me get excited too because I have always loved snow as well. So, when it snowed the other night we couldn't wait to go out to play in the snow. Jennifer worked the night before but we couldn't wait so we woke her up early around 11 to head outside (That gave her just over 3 hours of sleep). This would actually be Landon's first time playing in the snow since he was only around 6 months old last winter.

Landon's first snow experience!
He has on a few layers of clothes and I think he looks like Ralphie's brother in A Christmas Story.
Brinley playing in the snow.
Me and the munchkins.
Brinley making her snow angels. She didn't like it as much as I thought she would. She had trouble moving her legs and then some snow got up in her face and then when she tried to get it off she got even more in her face from the residue on her gloves.
I decided to show her how to make a good snow angel. I might have enjoyed playing in the snow more than Brinley.
Landon was still trying to figure out all this new white stuff.
My little mini me.
2nd attempt at snow angels. This time we let Landon try one.
He just laid there and I moved his arms and legs around.
Mommy started making snowballs and giving them to Brinley to throw at me.
Brinley picking up some huge snowballs.
This little guy is just growing up so quick!
These are my two favorite girls!
My joys in life.
Trying to walk around in the snow proved to be very difficult when it almost comes up to your knees.
We got out some of our beach toys and started building towers.
Brinley was calling these cakes and she wanted nothing more than to destroy them.
Building a snowman. I couldn't get much done with my gloves on so I ditched them and built it all with just my hands. I had to keep taking breaks to warm them up.
We were able to build a little snowman. We didn't bring out anything to give him a face though. Moments after this Brinley knocked the whole thing over.
Landon got worn out and decided that he was going to rest for a little while.
Brinley-zilla was working hard knocking down all the towers.
Landon decided that he was going to give the snow a little taste.
I think he liked it!
The kids loved it! Jennifer was getting cold so she wanted to go inside and she had to bribe the kids with hot chocolate so they would go in. That settled it. The kids both love some chocolate. We went in and had hot chocolate followed by some snow cream. It wasn't as good as I remember as a child, but I found out later that I didn't put enough sugar in it. Maybe next time I will get it right. I can't wait to spend many more winters playing in the snow with these two. Thanks for reading and God bless!
